Role Purpose

Implements the software development strategy for a set of FX Technology products and applies business requirements and knowledge of software development lifecycles to guide the development of complex software products or customer solutions.

**Responsibilities**

Key responsibilities
- Provides significant expertise in high-quality software design, architecture, product domain, process automation, software validation and verification testing
- Creates efficient software development processes
- Implements processes to produce code of the highest quality
- Designs, develops and delivers software solutions that align with architecture, operational and risk processes
- Works closely with the Architecture, Product and Sales teams to deliver products, services, enhancements and solutions to meet customer needs and align with the goals of the business line
- Creates highly effective and productive collaboration with other technical experts
- Acts as the go-to person for technical leadership across the organisation
- Ensures quality is built into everything we deliver as an organisation.

Leadership responsibilities

Lead Agile POD or small groups of developers

FX Exchange Venue & Applications Modules. FX Product deliverables

This role is key to delivering the FX Customer Exchange technologies as part of FX Integration and future opportunities.

**Essential experience**:

- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Foreign Exchange Trading technology
- Expertise in C++ 11/14/17
- Multi-threading & concurrency
- Experience in Agile development methodologies
- Proficient at delivering quality software
- Atlassian Jira and Confluence
- CICD tooling such as Git/Gitlab/Bamboo/BitBucket/Sonarqube
- Application Security Tools such as Veracode/Coverity/Blackduck
- Continuously adopt a pragmatic, flexible and responsive approach
- Hands on experience of automation
- Linux

**Preferred**:

- FX Options knowledge
- FIX 5.x
- REST
- Windows
- Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, Delivery Management, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance

Business and sector expertise
- Experience in FX industry & regulated environments required
- Experience in broader financial markets preferred
- Leadership and management experience
- Experience in technical thought leadership
- Understanding of stakeholder management
- Experience managing vendor resources & teams preferred
- Personal skills and capabilities
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
