Assistant Director, Tsinghua-insead Executive Mba

Within the school, INSEAD operates a joint Executive MBA Programme in partnership with China’s prestigious Tsinghua University situated in Beijing. The Tsinghua-INSEAD Executive MBA Programme - known as TIEMBA - is a life-changing leadership development opportunity combining the best of East and West in one single programme. The TIEMBA programme gives students a chance to study at the three INSEAD campuses of Singapore, Fontainebleau and Abu Dhabi, as well as time in Beijing.
Based at INSEAD’s Asia Campus in Singapore, the Assistant Director of the TIEMBA Programme is responsible for ensuring the delivery of the programme, the partnership with Tsinghua University, plus full academic, faculty and alumni support. This is a permanent and full-time role.
The Assistant Director is responsible for all logístical and administrative aspects of the TIEMBA Programme as it moves through the Singapore, Fontainebleau and Abu Dhabi campuses. To ensure a smooth customer journey, the Assistant Director needs to collaborate closely with their counterparts at Tsinghua University for managing the preparation, running and follow-up of different student cohorts. The Assistant Director will also need to align and collaborate with the internal INSEAD EMBA Programme Management teams and be a public representative for INSEAD and the TIEMBA programme.
Responsibilities will include:
Operational excellence in the delivery of the TIEMBA programme
Oversee, support and deliver operational excellence and continuous improvement for the TIEMBA programme to deliver an increasingly positive participant experience.
Identify and implement improvement methods for enhancing the participant experience through improved operations, processes, or new value-add services.
Provide faculty support for programme operations and scheduling.

Overseeing Tsinghua Partner Management
Support a positive and productive partnership with Tsinghua University.
Coordinate and communicate on partnership items throughout INSEAD (faculty, marketing, recruitment, admissions, finance, etc) as needed to support the TIEMBA programme.
Financial Management - Programme Operations
Manage INSEAD’s financial resources for the TIEMBA programme and manage budget requests on time; always keeping expenses within approved budget.
Seek and identify opportunities to maintain/improve programme operations and student experience at reduced costs.
Serve as a key knowledge and champion resource to promote TIEMBA within INSEAD to programme management, recruiting & admissions, marketing, finance, IT, facilities, and others.
Advise and guide on TIEMBA website development and marketing initiatives.
Negotiate with external suppliers and supervise the services provided to ensure quality, efficiency and value.
Liaise with relevant Faculty member involved in the programme to get their pedagogical material/requirements and ensure high-level quality programme delivery to participants.
Actively listen to and analyse student feedback on programme progress and content and relay important information to the senior management to ensure any issues might be addressed appropriately.

To succeed in the role you will need the following skills and experience:
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
Minimum of 5 to 6 years’ experience within the higher education industry or business schools is a definite plus, as would be any programme or business management experience
Hands-on experience in partnership management
A strong team player who is able to operate across many different cultures and geographies and who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle students, recruiters, heads of business and other senior contacts
Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese in order to communicate effectively with partners at Tsinghua
Possess a strong ability to influence, motivate and inspire across the organization
Own a collaborative mindset with a strong track record of results
