Analyst - Plastics Recycling

There will be a strong research element to the role, with data gathering and relationship building within the industry expected. A high level of internal collaboration will be required with colleagues around the world and across different functions.

Strong data, analytical and communication skills will be required. Attention to detail, creativity and initiative will be highly valued.

This role would suit an individual with experience in this or a related commodities or environmental sciences sector. The role will provide exposure to this company’s global team of industry experts and analysts.

Key Responsibilities
- Generate company data and analysis in the plastics recycling sector
- Develop deep understanding of recycling market drivers and contribute to the production of written analysis explaining and predicting market developments
- Fundamental data research relevant to the plastics recycling value chain
- Effective maintenance and regular updating of key data sets
- Idea generation for expansion in this sector
- Engage with the industry and clients through event/conference attendance, client engagement and other marketing activities
- External presentation of the team’s analysis and representation of ICIS at related events
- Broaden and add further detail to our coverage of our plastic recycling data sets

Desired Skills and Experience
- A graduate who can demonstrate their interest in the circular economy and in contributing to its development (Sustainability or Chemistry/Chemical Engineering desirable).
- Proven quantitative and qualitative research skills either in education or employment.
- Attention to detail and high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and an aptitude for building contacts and networks.
- Experience with forecast modelling software and methodologies would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of the polyester industry would be advantageous
