Strategic Sourcing Leader

The Senior Commodity Manager plays a pivotal role in driving strategic sourcing initiatives that align with business objectives, ensuring cost-effective procurement, supplier performance, and risk mitigation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing Strategy Development : Develop and implement sourcing strategies for raw materials and components that cater to the company's production and sustainability goals.
  • Supplier Relationship Management : Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and compliance standards are met. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships.
  • Market Intelligence Gathering : Monitor global market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain risks in the plastics industry, providing insights and forecasts to internal stakeholders.
  • Cost Optimization Initiatives : Drive cost reduction through value engineering, alternative sourcing, and long-term supplier partnerships, ensuring the company remains competitive in the market.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with product development and operational needs.
  • Sustainability & Compliance : Ensure sourcing practices comply with environmental regulations and support the company's sustainability goals, including the use of recycled and bio-based plastics.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting : Analyze spend data, supplier performance metrics, and market indices to provide regular reports and presentations for senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in commodity management or strategic sourcing, preferably in the plastics or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Deep understanding of plastic materials, global supply markets, and sustainability trends.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and procurement tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
