**Job Summary**: The Audit Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the audit team in conducting statutory audits and other assurance engagements. This entry-level position is ideal for motivated individuals looking to build a strong foundation in auditing and accounting within a professional services environment. The Audit Associate will assist in all phases of the audit process, from planning to report finalization, ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Audit Execution**:
- Perform audit procedures in accordance with the Singapore Standards on Auditing (SSA), Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), and the Singapore Companies Act.
- Execute assigned engagement-related tasks, including testing of controls and substantive procedures.
- Obtain and document audit evidence to corroborate financial information.
- Prepare and/or review audit documentation and working papers for corporate governance and financial reporting.
- Assist in identifying and communicating audit findings, control deficiencies, and areas for improvement to senior team members.
- **Financial Reporting**:
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and accompanying information in compliance with applicable accounting frameworks (e.g., SFRS, IFRS).
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends and anomalies.
- **Client & Team Collaboration**:
- Work closely with Senior Auditors, Audit Managers, and Partners to ensure timely and effective completion of audit engagements.
- Communicate effectively with clients to obtain necessary information and clarify audit issues.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and engagement team members.
- Adhere to project timelines and follow up on review points diligently.
- **Technical & Professional Development**:
- Develop and maintain a sound understanding of auditing standards, accounting principles, and relevant regulatory requirements in Singapore.
- Participate in internal training programs and actively engage in continuous professional development.
- Utilize audit software (e.g., Caseware) and other relevant technologies efficiently.
- **Ad-Hoc Duties**:
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as required by the audit team or firm management.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or an equivalent professional qualification recognized by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA). ACCA or CA qualification is highly advantageous.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Prior internship experience in an audit firm is an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and Singapore Standards on Auditing (SSA).
- Familiarity with audit software (e.g., Caseware) is a plus.
**Skills & Competencies**:
- **Analytical Thinking**: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to interpret and visualize data effectively.
- **Communication**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to articulate findings clearly to clients and team members. Proficiency in other languages (e.g., Mandarin) may be an advantage for specific client portfolios.

- **Integrity & Professionalism**: High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and professionalism in a professional setting.
