Visitor Experience Ambassador

**The Job**:
You’re the face and voice of the museum, the first touchpoint for visitor experience and engagement. As an Experience Ambassador, you’re service and people oriented, own an inquisitive mind-set and enjoy starting/maintaining conversations with our visitors. You appreciate a good story and take delight in telling stories of our artefacts. As the front-of-house means you’ll meet visitors from all walks of life and you possess the aptitude to manage/de-escalate challenging situations with poise and tact.

**The Responsibilities**:
Front of House
- Welcome visitors with warmth and friendliness. Seek to establish a good relationship with our visitors so as to deepen the visitor experience and engagement. Follow up and learn about their experience with us.
- Speak and write using clear and professional language with accuracy, completeness, and empathy. Response professionally using appropriate phone/writing etiquette.
- Present your best by maintaining a clean and professional appearance, through uniform and personal grooming.
- Conduct daily visual checks and setup where necessary to ensure complete inventory.
- Check and make sure that artefacts are properly secured at all time.
- Manage ticketing sales/enquiries for admission and membership for walk-ins, corporate, school, and leisure tours.
- Manage souvenirs and merchandise sales/enquiries.
- Perform cashiering duty and closing settlement.
Back of House
- Perform basic housekeeping to keep the display area, museum shop, stock room, and back-office clean and tidy pre and post operations as part of workplace health and safety.
- Manage the museum shop, stock room, and back-office by making sure that the merchandises are well stocked. Responsible for receiving, maintaining and/or reconciling inventory for accuracy.
- Request for maintenance where required, and assist with general maintenance to ensure a safe and pleasing environment for both visitors and co-workers.
- Observe the museum’s policies and procedures. Safeguard the confidentiality of proprietary information to protect the museum, the artefacts, privacy of our visitors, and co-workers.
- Develop and maintain positive, productive, and transparent working relationship and environment with co-workers. Support each other to achieve museum’s KPIs.
- Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by supervisor.
**The Fit**:
- Work experience as customer service/ guest relation/ front-of-house in hospitality, tourism, entertainment, retail, and/or museum sector.
- Enjoy engaging and connecting with people from all walks of life
- Good command of English (spoken and written) and another fluently spoken language (Bahasa Indonesia, Malay, Mandarin, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Cantonese, local dialect etc).
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Maturity and sensitivity to handle challenging situations/personalities
- Able to work on weekend, public holidays.
**The Environment**:Orchard. 5 day work-week, based on roster.
