
Regional Business Improvement Assistant Manager

**Role Purpose**:
The Regional Business Improvement Assistant Manager will ensure increased effectiveness and efficiency of operational delivery of all exam products in country/ cluster/ region through identification, implementation, maintenance from business improvement approaches as part of the Global Business improvement strategy. The role will be responsible for leading and embedding changes and business improvement aligned with Global and Regional strategy.
**Main accountabilities but not limited to the following**:
Service delivery
- In collaboration with Regional Business Improvement Manager identifies and makes recommendations on improvements to ways of working that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Exams delivery, as well as the operational effectiveness of their internal customers, works out and execute improvement plans, drives benefits realisation
- Monitors systems and processes closely by understanding the core business functionality by liaising with different Exams SBUs and present ideas for creating efficiencies to Regional Business Improvement Manager.
- Contributes into the development and implementation of Global Business Improvement, corporate or regional change projects and supports the Regional Business Improvement Manager as an agent of change for the region ensuring embedding in the business and benefits realization.
Continuous Improvement
- Support the ongoing exams transformation programme by assisting relevant teams in different capacities to provide maximum effectiveness and efficiency
- Supports the delivery of business changes through processes and systems to the implementation in business in a more effective and efficient way
- Identifies areas of improvement in business by understanding the nature of work done by officers and mid-level management of Exams SBU through formal and informal discussions by creating a trust level.
- Works on agreed business improvement priorities to enable the development of the Business Improvement function
- Gathers competitor’s information and market trends (related to business improvement) by creating a network and channel for information.
- Provides communication and documentation support on a range of market and competitor data to improve Exams delivery processes and services, feeding into the regional/cluster/country business improvement initiatives
Customers & stakeholders
- Regularly monitors customer journeys across operations at points of delivery and prepares report for Head BI on areas of improvement
- Maintains excellent relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders across the country and region, to support an enable improvements in the quality of exams delivery.
- Develops peer/personal networks within and outside the BC to enhance own knowledge and expertise
Risk & compliance
- Uses standardised processes to monitor, manage and report risks during the business improvement process
- Support the monitors of staff compliance with the agreed corporate policies and practices relevant to their area of functional expertise. Investigates reasons for non-compliance and feeds these back into the Business improvement needs of the cluster/ region
- Supports the relevant teams to ensure Exams delivery is compliant with agreed standards and that areas identified for improvement are quickly and fully implemented
- Ensures the team receives appropriate briefing/training in new systems and processes introduced
- Support to make appropriate contingency plans to maintain business as usual and ensure business continuity through business improvement process
Commercial & resource management
- Shows an understanding of value for money/cost effectiveness in the advice recommendations or service support provided to the business improvement team
Leadership & management
- Motivates and encourages the team’s engagement in change process
- Supports team development towards effective use of new systems and processes
- Tasks and coordinates internal and external stakeholders to complete activities in accordance with agreed project milestones or requirements (e.g. cost schedules, time deadlines etc).
- Plans and prioritises own work activities to ensure effective delivery of diverse responsibilities and deliverables over a quarterly to annual time horizon
- As an experienced professional, contributes ideas to support the development of discipline-wide and customer-specific business plans and priorities
**Role specific knowledge and experience**:
- Experience of business process improvement including improvement within a global business environment
- Experience of supporting projects in response to customer expectations and changing products & services.
- Experience of planning and managing projects in a fast-paced operational environment at a management level
- Experience of supporting large scale change programmes
- Experience of managing the change process and project implementation in a business environment
