**Role Purpose**

To provide leadership to Swire Shipping’s global Commercial Management teams with two principal objectives;
Growing & protecting long term customer relationships which generate freight premiums compared to market.

Establish and implement a standardized “center of excellence” covering all commercial, customer service, and agency management policy

**Role Accountabilities**
- Develop an annual revenue and volume plan (for agreement by GM Swire Shipping and Swire Shipping BOD) and meet or exceed this plan throughout the year. The revenue plan is estimated at USD600m p.a.
- Develop commercial strategy that covers all parts of the customer interaction with Swire Shipping. Including development of IT systems and online platforms.
- Own the Swire Shipping top-100 customer list, ensuring the list is a live and relevant document within the business and is driving clarity on customer relationship ownership
- GM Commercial & Regional should personally own the strategy for Swire Shipping’s top 10 customers (this does not necessarily mean the front person)
- Own periodic customer surveys to ensure that Swire Shipping’s customer facing strategy is fit for purpose, and dynamic enough to ensure Swire Shipping is changing with the times
- Develop and own the implementation of Swire Shipping’s “center of excellence” policy for all matters relating to Commercial/Sales, Customer Service, Agency Management
- Responsibility for the performance, profitability and overall management of the CNCo Joint Venture agency. The budget responsibility is estimated at USD2.9m
- Improve the alignment of the global agency and regional networks and development of a system-wide performance based culture. Specifically oversee the enhancement project for APMS
- Set and manage against the annual admin budget for all Swire Shipping regional and CNCo Branch Offices. Maintaining a specific focus on admin as a % of over revenue
- Oversight for cost effective and efficient global feeder network and connecting carriage agreements

**People Management**
- Lead employees to meet the organisation's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
- Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the team in accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures.
- Plan staffing levels and work with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ the right people within budgetary guidelines.
- Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
- Consciously create an engaging workplace culture that emphasizes the identified mission, vision, guiding principles, and values of the organisation.
- Lead employees using a performance management and development process including goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning.
- Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility, drive accountability and provide regular feedback for continuous improvement.
- Manage and maintain effective employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.
- Deliver key people related activities in conjunction with HR that will lead to the enhanced engagement and retention of team members.
