**JOb Purpose**:
IRD is embarking upon an organizational development and transformation journey, and as we look into our next 20 years of operations, we recognize the need to strengthen our operational platform further promote innovation within a supportive framework, and then enable the transition to scaled intervention to improve the lives of millions of vulnerable and underserved people.

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will play a critical role in providing strategic and operational leadership to drive the successful implementation of programs and projects that are aligned with our organization’s mission and goals. As the COO, you will work in close partnership with the CEO and other senior leaders to develop and execute operational plans that align with the organisation’s strategic plans.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the departments of Procurement, HR, and Administration and ensuring their efficient functioning and alignment with organizational objectives. You will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness within these departments and across IRD Network.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The COO will ideally have a background in people operations, administration, and logistics, along with extensive experience in project management, line management, and goal-setting, to oversee and optimize global operations.

Lead Our Organization to Success

**Collaborative Leadership and Organizational Development**
- Play pivotal role in operationalizing the strategic plan/roadmaps.
- Implement activity monitoring systems, policies, SOPs, and KPIs to ensure effective tracking and improvement.

**Policy Development, Implementation, and Compliance**
- Develop and implement new policies aligned with organization’s strategy, statutory and donor requirements.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory regulations and global guidelines within global and country offices.
- Ensure the provision of best administration practices, maintaining high-quality standards and cost-effectiveness.

**Operational Performance and Resource Allocation**
- Empower operational and program teams with leadership, resources, and support for successful operations.
- Lead and guide departments towards achieving strategic objectives.
- Measure and report on operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and developing action plans.
- Furnish required information to the Executive Director and Board of Directors regarding operations, challenges, and improvement options.

**Stakeholder Engagement and Issue Resolution**
- Interact with stakeholders, contributing to the resolution of organizational issues.
- Represent IRD at forums, platforms, and institutions, providing updates on operational activities.

**Work Environment and Employee Support**
- Foster an enabling work environment that promotes motivation, job enrichment, and personnel counselling.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for staff members.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA)**:
Required Qualification
- Master’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field.

Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in operations management, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- The ability to work effectively across different time zones. As our organization operates globally, collaborating with teams and stakeholders across various locations and time zones is crucial.
