
Research Psychologist

**Duties**:
- Lead and conduct applied research for the development and validation of leadership assessments, ensuring measures are fair, valid, reliable, adhere to professional testing standards and regulations.
- Identify new ideas for study to include new approaches, methods and techniques related to leadership and leader development.
- Perform and/or oversee data reduction and conduct advanced, complex data analyses and write reports describing the completed results.
- Review reports of other scientists and contract personnel for quality, accuracy, professional standards, and compliance with regulations and style manuals.
- Prepare and provide briefs after receiving mínimal input from the unit chief and/or team leader.

- **Basic Requirement for a Research Psychologist**:
**Degree**:Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with a major or equivalent in psychology.- In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
- **Specialized Experience**: One year of specialized experience which includes experience **developing and/or validating leadership assessments, performing statistical analysis, conducting research, and preparing reports.** This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
**Education**:
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-**no** substitution of education for experience is permitted.
**Additional information**:
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
