**Summary**

BPS Junior Associate / Accountant fulfils an integral transactional and reporting function in Deloitte’s Business Process Solutions (“BPS”) team. This role touches all aspects of the finance function including accounting, payment processing and statutory financial statements preparation, documentation of process improvements and other special projects as needed. This position will report to the BPS Senior / BPS Manager.

**Job Purpose**:
Provide support with recording accounting transactions and generating timely financial reports including the quarterly GST reporting process. Prepare online bank payments in the bank portal, provide cash flow projections to our clients by coordinating with relevant stakeholders and maintaining and reconciling the general ledger accounts. Provide support to the BPS Manager, the other members of the BPS accounting team and the client.

**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities may include:

- Obtain and file accounting related documents in a timely manner and highlight any improvements to the data collection process as necessary
- Key in data into the accounting system and maintain the general ledger accounts for clients
- Preparing monthly accruals, prepayments, other manual journal entries and reconciling the monthly accounts
- Accounts receivable - assisting with the client’s invoicing requirements
- Payment processing and monitoring payables
- Compile and provide financial or transactional information or data as necessary.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required**
- Diploma in accounting or a comparable professional qualification (or currently pursuing a professional qualification)
- Self-starter, organized, attention to detail, deadline oriented and hands-on.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment on several projects.
- Some experience with ERP systems in the past - Xero/ MS Navision / SAP is a plus.
- Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal pressures.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- MS Office experience required including extensive Excel knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
