**What the role is**
- The Research and Analytics Division (RA) drives MSF’s research and analytics efforts, to strengthen the nexus between policy, practice, operations, research and analytics to support MSF outcomes, policies and programmes. It also drives the strategy for engagement with the external social research community beyond conducting deep research and data analytics studies, coordinating the social research agenda and building research expertise to support policymaking and programmes for MSF.
As an Assistant Director/ Manager (Research & Analytics), you will manage a small team of researchers to undertake hands-on social research and data analytics projects and provide technical advice on research scoping and methodology, to ensure timely delivery of projects. In addition, you will liaise with researchers and non-researchers on research strategy and coordination matters.

**What you will be working on**
- Coordinate and develop the social research agenda within MSF to support policymaking and programmes
- Develop a strategic plan to work with academics, researchers, and non-researchers within and outside the Ministry to advance policy thinking and support evidence-based policy formulation through the development of research ideas, collaborations and/or translation of research findings
- Lead efforts in scanning and synthesising the social science research literature to inform the Ministry’s policies and programmes
- Oversee a small team of researchers in the conduct of qualitative and/or quantitative research and analysis that span a wide range of topics in relation to the Ministry’s mission and to work with academics, consultants and research companies on selected projects
- Provide technical and methodological guidance on the research undertaken by the team, and to ensure the timely delivery of projects
- Develop research guidelines as well as improve processes and knowledge management/communications to promote research understanding and tighten research-policy nexus

**What we are looking for**
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience
- Strong understanding of a range of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods and past experience in leading a research team would be an advantage
- Strong leadership, analytical, communications and project management skills
- Good understanding of/or experience with programme evaluation would be an advantage
