**Job Accountabilities & Responsibilities**
- As a General Manager for the Ship & Transportation System Department at Sumitomo Corporation Asia & Oceania, you will be responsible for developing strategies in collaboration with the Ship & Marine Strategic Business Unit (SBU) at SC Headquarter and Sumisho Marine.
- Manage trading and brokerage of new and used ships, as well as charter brokerage in key markets including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and mainland China under the Sumisho Marine brand.
- Conduct strategic negotiations with highly specialized suppliers and customers in the ship trading and brokerage industry.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region.
- Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders, including other business units, SCAO regional organizations, and related corporate entities.
- Collaborate with domestic and international agencies to gather market intelligence and support business initiatives.
- Responsible for providing guidance, supervision, and professional development of team members.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Marketing, or Law is required.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the shipping industry, with a strong background in ship brokerage required.
- Proven track record in business development across the Asia-Pacific region.
- Possess strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, along with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to evaluate and develop team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively across internal and external networks.
- Deep understanding of the Japanese Trading House business model, such as trading (export and import and leasing) of goods and services and investment in diversified business areas.
- High proficiency in Japanese (both written and spoken) is required to effectively communicate with Japanese-speaking counterparts in Japan headquarter, as well as with group companies across the region.
