Assistant Manager, Student Life

The incumbent of the role is required to work closely with the Associate/Assistant Chairs (Students & Continuing Education) and partner with various stakeholders, including SASD in maintaining and fostering better relationship between students and the school, and alumni and the school, through active involvement with the students and its clubs on programmes, activities, and events, including development, outreach and students’ admission matters.
**Responsibilities**
Student services
- Plan student programs, trainings, workshops, industry talks, forums, activities and review feedback to improve future initiatives e.g. Leadership and Empowerment Training Programme, Career Employability Workshops.
- Administer students claims
Student-related events and activities
- Organize and execute freshmen and student-related/alumni activities and ensure the smooth execution of the various activities e.g. University Scholars Leadership Symposium, Overseas Community Involvement Programme, Orientation Programme, Convocation, iGEM
Student clubs and interest groups (Undergraduate and Post Graduate)
- Guide student clubs and interest groups in the organization of activities and programs
- Monitor budget expenditure for student clubs and interest groups and ensure expenditure is in accordance to stipulated requirements
- Work closely with student clubs and interest groups to execute activities and initiatives
- Plan and strategize activities and initiatives with AC (Students & Continuing Education) to enhance both UG and PG student experiences and cohesion in the school.
- Prepare, submit, and file various types of reports and information.
- Generate required statistical data relating to Students life function and review trends and analyses to assist AC (Students & Continuing Education) in conceptualizing new policies/initiatives to improve student life support
- Any other ad-hoc duties or projects assigned
Outreach, publicity and external relations
- Liaise with Corporate Communications and Events Manager, College of Engineering in the development of all online marketing, social media, and print media to use in student recruitment activities
- Organise and coordinate industry visits, talks, forums, and networking sessions
- Coordinate student helpers for outreach events
Admissions
- Organize scholarship interviews
- Participate in admission selection meetings, answer enquiries from prospective students and parents
- Generate statistical data on student intake
Alumni Engagement
- Organise and coordinate alumni activities with Alumni Club e.g. alumni sharing session, alumni events etc
- Effectively utilize budget for all alumni activities
- Coordinate with AAO on potential marketing / press release / news coverage for alumni’s achievements
- Participate and provide support to AAO events where required
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience OR
- Diploma with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, and
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Basic statistical analysis
- Meticulous
- Independent but a strong team player
- Driven and highly motivated
- Good Project Management skills
- Good Time Management skills
