The Senior Assistant Manager, Student Life (Diversity & Inclusion) will assist a team of staff in delivering key student development initiatives in SIT, such as Diversity & Inclusion, Accessibility and Community Wellness programmes and initiatives. As part of holistic support to students, the Senior Assistant Manager will also assist with student welfare initiatives.
The Senior Assistant Manager will also support daily operations of the division, which includes project management and student relationship development. The position contributes to safeguarding a vibrant, inclusive and supportive student life and university campus.
This position is part of the Diversity & Inclusion Pillar in Student Life Division. It is one of the pillars in the division which creates transformative, enriching campus experiences and promotes student wellbeing. The pillars in Student Life Division include Campus Engagement, Counselling Services, Diversity and Inclusion, Global Citizenship, Leadership Development, Performing Arts, Sports Development, and Student Organisations. These exist to create a holistic educational environment to enrich and empower students, develop their leadership skills and create opportunities to build the community.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Work together with the Team Lead and the team in delivering key programmes in Diversity & Inclusion and Student Welfare, which includes programme design, execution, and evaluation.
- Ensure efficient and accurate administrative and operational functions of Diversity & Inclusion, and the division where required, which includes procurement, consolidating data and preparing reports and presentations. This also extends to compliance with all relevant guidelines and policies.
- Contribute to the Diversity & Inclusion frameworks, designs, execution, and evaluation of programmes and initiatives, ensuring optimal student engagement, experience and learning.
- Manage and support student-led projects and programmes, reviewing and evaluating their proposals, administrative and logístical matters.
- Mentor students, developing their potential and creating opportunities to encourage personal development, and guide them in building meaningful relationships amongst peers and multiple partners within SIT and the community.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and review of the division’s work plans, resource allocation and team development.
- Ad hoc projects as assigned by Director of Student Life.
**Job Requirements**
- Degree from a good University with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar position in an educational/community/corporate environment.
- Passionate about supporting and developing people.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic, positive attitude with the ability to think “out of the box”.
- Creative and excellent with Microsoft Office.
- Agile, able to multitask and work independently within a tight timeline.
- Able to work in a fast pace and dynamic environment, adaptable to changes.
- Willingness to learn continually through training, guidance, and self-reflection.
- Committed team player, responsible, reliable, and able to work with others to achieve division goals.
- Ability and willingness to work outside of office hours and on an ad-hoc basis.
