Singapore Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT) Full time

As a senior engineer in our team, you will build and own a solid data exploration platform as the foundation to support critical national security missions. You will push the limits of technology and suggest approaches to deliver suitable solutions to enable our users to derive insights from data.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design, develop and deploy reliable, scalable and secure Data Exploration Platform solutions
- Participate in technical discussions and work closely with stakeholders like product managers, software engineers, data scientists
- Influence decisions and drive improvements with technical leadership
- Bring industry standards and best practices to the team
- Understand and identify technology and system pitfalls for the team
- Maintain and upkeep deployed solutions, as well as physical and virtual infrastructures
- Advocate agile and LEAN software development processes
- Involve in hiring process to attract and hire capable and motivated engineers

**Requirements (Minimum Qualifications)**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering. Competent in programming languages such as Scala, Python, Java
- Deep expertise with at least 3 years of experience in Big Data Platforms. Proven experience with technologies like Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Elastic Stack and Kudu
- Proven experience in using DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines effectively
- Experience in one or more areas: APIs, big data engineering and micro-services
- Experience in supporting search workloads in multi-terabytes and billions of records
- Positive attitude, excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Experience in managing physical and virtual infrastructures
- Experience with cluster management and DevOps tools (e.g. Ansible, Kubernetes)
