Job Responsibilities:

- To assist/co-ordinate patient scheduling, interview patient and/or review patient charts for facts of patient history which are pertinent to the interpretation of nuclear examinations by the nuclear medicine physician/radiologist.
- To explain nuclear medicine procedure to patients.
- To ensure relevant pre-examination preparation is done and consent has been obtained from patient where required.
- To perform various imaging procedures under the gamma scanner and PET scanner to include cardiac functional scan under the supervision or the qualified physician and in accordance to prescribed standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- To perform hotlab duties including preparation of radiopharmaceuticals necessary for the imaging procedures.
- To perform checks on arriving radioactive materials.
- To record radiopharmaceuticals received, used and disposal according to radiation safety guidelines.
- To observe isotope takeup time necessary for optimal image quality and to post-process images according to physician’s instruction.
- To ensure radiation and other procedural safety are complied with at all times while attending to patients.
- To develop treatment procedure for nuclear medicine treatment program together with the physician.
- To maintain records and logs as required by department protocols and licensure requirements and log patient dose administered, progress notes and other pertinent data.
- To perform daily quality control on imaging equipment and radioactivity assaying devices in the department; calibrate cameras and equipment in accordance with protocol; verify proper operation of equipment prior to use; check radiation-monitoring devices and rectify any problems identified.
- To perform nuclear medicine therapeutic procedures.
- To perform any other duties as instructed by the HOD/Senior Principal Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor in Applied Science (Nuclear Medicine) or Diploma in Radiography from recognized institution.
- Member of professional body; local or overseas.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technician/Radiographer.
- Experience in PETCT and PETMR.
- Knowledge and experience in nuclear medicine therapeutic procedures preferred.
- Good customer service, telephone and public relations skill.
- Good command of spoken, written English, and a second language.
- Working knowledge of PACS system.
- Good knowledge on radiation safety.
