AWARE is hiring a** counselling manager** to coordinate and lead our counselling service. This position also leads the implementation of trauma-informed care environment at AWARE. This is a senior management position in a thriving organisation and requires an experienced practitioner, preferably with a background in integrative counselling, management and work in an organisational setting. A willingness to embrace and develop a broad range of counselling models underpinned by gender and trauma-informed theory is preferred.

**Service Management and Delivery**
- Coordinate, manage and lead a safe, effective, efficient counselling service that is gender
- and trauma-informed and in line with AWARE’s mission and values.
- Provide professional and high-quality level of counselling to a small number of counselling clients.
- As needed, provide internal supervision to counsellors and other relevant staff of CARE.
- Provide line management, leadership, empowerment, encouragement and support to the counselling team (service delivery staff, operations team, counsellors, volunteers and interns). Liaise with staff and volunteers from other departments as necessary.
- Lead and monitor the counselling programme such that it is delivered as per strategy plan, on time, within budget
- Ensure counselling team practice in line with Singapore Association for Counselling code of ethics
- Identify service priority areas and introduce changes to service delivery in order to increase efficiency, improve quality or to respond to the changing landscape of Singapore’s services provision. Liaise and partner with relevant social service, voluntary and statutory services where relevant.
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding and engagement of volunteer and contract counsellors. Identify training and supervision needs and implement them with the team.
- Promote the counselling service among relevant agencies, referrers, clients and potential clients as required.
- Oversee the maintenance of appropriate record-keeping systems in line with data protection.

**Trauma-Informed Care**
- Strategy planning, overseeing and leading implementation of trauma-informed care environment at AWARE.
- Engage with internal and external partners, constituents and potential funders/partners to ensure the successful implementation of the programme.
- Manage project progress and mentor staff for project execution, including continually meeting project requirements to deliver project deliverables with the highest-quality standards, on time and within budget.
- Collect on-ground information that will impact the formulation, implementation and growth of the project, including identifying and tapping on appropriate community resources and/or funding schemes.

**Requirements**:

- Recognised qualification in counselling, social work or psychology, at master’s level
- Evidence of significant post-qualifying professional development (certificate in counselling supervision preferable)
- Certification in trainings related to trauma-informed care practices (management qualification preferable)
- Ability to assess client need and carry out high-quality counselling (experience with group work preferable)
- Significant recent clinical experience
- Experience working in an organisation (experience working in the voluntary/social service sector preferable)
- Experience working with a time-limited counselling approach as well as experience in conducting longer term work (significant experience working in different modalities preferable)
- Experience in managing service development (especially change management, programme evaluation, service improvement, implementation of new processes and policies)
- Experience in recruiting and managing staff and volunteers (especially mentoring new hires and trainee counsellors)
- Strong commitment to the values of AWARE, gender
- and trauma-informed practice
- Ability to assess complex client need and risk
- Ability to manage a counselling service within financial constraints
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional boundaries
- Strong teamwork ethos and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team (social workers, counsellors, managers)
- Ability to communicate appropriately with clients, co-workers and management, both verbally and in writing (second language such as Chinese, Malay or Tamil preferable)
- Excellent case recording and record-keeping skills, ability to interpret data and produce reports (experience of research/audit preferable)
- Good organisational and IT skills. Ability to manipulate and analyse both quantitative and qualitative data; strong Excel skills and project management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands
- Ability to work independently and support the workload management of team members
