Distribution Support Supervisor

Overview:
Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the Distribution Supervisor is based in the Singapore site to support the following activities:

- Distribution & Transportation for South-East Asia (SEA) (using Baan)
- Distribution & Transportation for Singapore Manufactured products (Kaki Bukit) to DC in the USA (Richmond), Europe (Leipzig) & to all the Asia Pacific countries (namely: Greater China, Japan, PacRim and India) (using SAP)
- Distribution & Transportation for US & EHQ products (Instruments) that are shipped to Singapore for redistribution to the Asia Pacific countries (Greater China, Japan, PacRim & India) (using SAP)

The Distribution Center (DC) will operate in 2 systems (SAP & Baan). The DC Supervisor will manage the overflow warehouse operations at a third party storage location at the start and will also manage 1 group of warehouse associates in the DC.

The DC Supervisor will be responsible for staff and operations in the area of Distribution Support, Inventory, Receiving, Storing, Dispensing, Transferring and/or Shipping materials in compliance with all regulations and procedures. He needs to manage the 2 systems and inventory carefully to ensure no mixed up. He is responsible for Management of Physical Inventory accuracy & timely disposing of expired / damaged products. He is also responsible for all transportation, import and export of goods in and out of the Bio-Rad Singapore DC.

The Supervisor is required to partner with 3rd Party Logistics Providers in the areas of Internal and domestic transportation, Import & Export + packing materials, Facility maintenance of the Distribution Center. To be successful in this position, he will need to interact with his peers, Distribution Support Specialists, Inventory Analyst and also warehouse associates.

**Responsibilities**:
Distribution Management
- Manage the overflow storage and one of the process in the Singapore DC that encompasses Singapore inventory, EHQ inventory and USPA inventory
- Ensure no mixed between SAP & Baan Operations during the interim till the DC is fully implemented with SAP
- Manage efficient supply chain Operation for both inbound and outbound logistics Operations
- Ensure all products are picked, packed and shipped in accordance to the day & time for shipments
- Ensure Export shipments are shipped out in accordance to set plan
- Maintain performance statistics and ensure accurate record keeping of all operational documents related to logistics
- Manage Distribution Support to ensure all paperwork is processed efficiently and in a timely manner and meets all compliance requirements in the importing and exporting country
- Implement effective logistics tools in supply chain operations

Transportation Management
- Ensure consistent quality of service in accordance with service level agreements
- Ensure performance levels for delivery of products are maintained at the highest level
- Coordinate with manufacturing divisions to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods
- Inventory
- Ensure that goods are stored within defined time parameters and in appropriate storage condition (chiller, Freezer, Ambient, DG etc)
- Carry out cycle count and stock-takes as required (+submission to Corporate)
- Ensure that Customer orders are picked and packed promptly and accurately, in proper shipping condition, within nominated time-frame
- Ensure all consignments are picked up by the transport company at designated time

Human Resources
- Coach, train and mentor direct reports and provide career development opportunities through training and quality management activities
- Conduct annual performance reviews for all direct reports against agreed KPIs and other tasks
- Ensure the effective implementation of the Performance Management System for all SEA logistics employees
- Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking and participation in professional organizations

Qualifications:

- A Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Supply Chain or Economics
- Managing of Hazardous Substances certified / SCDF / NEA Knowledge will be an advantage
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the area of Logistics / Supply Chain management (Distribution, Transportation)
- Minimum 3 years in leading improvement initiatives & always seeking for new ideas
- Excellent Excel skillset & Warehouse Management Systems, preferably SAP
- Good Planning & Organizing ability
