The Retail Operations Manager is a key leadership role within the Novela’s retail organization. You will be responsible for providing leadership and managing of stores in Singapore market to maintain growth and profitability.

You will oversee the overall retail sales, operations, and staff, ensuring retail and operational excellence. This role will be integral to the success of Novela, especially as we continue to expand our retail reach in Singapore.

**What does success look like?
Retail Sales & Service Excellence
- Prepare sales forecasts for retail operations based on past sales trends.
- Work closely with stores and other departments for Visual Merchandising and ordering of inventories.
- Set sales target, monitor, and consolidate feedback on sales performance/productivity to aid management decision making.
- Review the daily and monthly sales results of the designated areas.
- Work closely with internal departments and vendors on promotional activities.
- Partner with Merchandising team to plan and execute floor moves, merchandise placement and sales set-up.
- Ensure proper presentation, organization, storing, and replenishment of repeat merchandise stock.
- Ensure accuracy of promotional presentation; communicate advertising and sales information to Associates.
- Review and recommend merchandising strategies on product assortment mix, vendor mix, price matrix and trends, with reference to target customer profiles and lifestyles.
- Monitor and ensure service standards are in place, conduct service audits and attend to customer feedback.
- Walk the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues.

Inventory Management
- Managing stock levels and suggesting key decisions about stock control.
- Ensure accuracy in Goods receipt and system transactions.
- Validate the cycle counts in the stores.

People Development
- Own all people related matters which include interviewing potential staff; conducting appraisals and performance reviews; and providing or organising training and development.
- Liaise with the internal teams on various training programs and initiate training sessions accordingly.
- Support training sessions on operational procedures and share any new procedures or guidelines to retail staff.
- Create an open feedback culture in store with an ‘open door’ policy towards all staff queries.
- Train Store Managers to assess their own store and its needs.
- Lead and motivate staff to maximize their sales potential and sales goals.
- Identity innovation and creative deployment where possible, not limited to review and integration of job scopes and get buy-ins from key stakeholders such as HR and staff.
- Ensure employee engagement is strengthened across all levels.

**Requirements**:

- Inspiration leader who can motivate and develop the team, proven experience in leading and growing a high performing retail team.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with a collaborative mindset
- 5 to 8 years of retail experience, preferably in FMCG / Retail industry.
