Thales Singapore Engineering Competence Centre (ECC) is a well-established R&D and engineering centre serving major customers worldwide in Digital Identity and Security domains ranging from mobile connectivity, IoT, banking & payment to government solutions.

The Cryptography team in Singapore develops embedded cryptographic libraries for the Mobile Connectivity Solutions business line. These libraries are integrated in Thales’ products such as removable SIMs and eSIMs (embedded SIMs).

As a Software Engineer, you will be working in a stimulating environment doing software development and evaluation. This is an ideal role for engineers who want to focus on writing small but complex functions on an embedded target.

**A week in the life of a Software Engineer (Cryptography)**:

- You will develop and validate software libraries implementing cryptographic functions.
- You will incorporate security countermeasures suited for the end product’s requirements
- You will occasionally perform attacks on smartcards’ cryptographic module
- You will assist in the certification of smartcard products
- You monitor innovation in embedded cryptography. This includes new attack techniques or implementations.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**:

- **To succeed at this job, you must have**:proficiency in low-level programming languages such as C or Assembly. Strong understanding of architecture and programming model of microcontrollers. Willingness to learn Mathematical concepts related to cryptography.
- **It would be preferred if you have **a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, basic understanding of modern cryptographic algorithms and secure coding, knowledge of possible attacks, software countermeasures.
- **It would be preferred if you have **used embedded development tools like emulators or development kits, and proficiency in Python.
- **You must be **proficient in English.
- **We would like someone to join our team who is **a strong verbal and written communicator, logical and creative problem-solver, open-minded and a quick learner.
- **You must have **a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
