**About the Department**:
**Group Strategic Communications and Brand** is responsible for protecting and promoting the UOB brand. Working closely with our stakeholders, we create and execute integrated communications strategies to promote awareness and understanding of the Bank’s approach to supporting its colleagues, customers and the communities in which it operates.
**Responsibilities**:
**The Sustainable Business team’s responsibilities include**:
- collaborating with business functions to manage environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities through the development of sustainable business strategies and frameworks, products and services;
- co-owning the development of the decarbonisation pathway strategies for the Group’s Scope 3 financed emissions together with Group Wholesale Banking;
- building capacity of business teams through providing insights into key sustainable finance developments and the impact on UOB and our customers; and
- managing the UOB’s Sustainable Bond Working Group.
**The main responsibilities of this role will include**:
- supporting sustainable business partners in frontline units with a focus on PFS, UOBAM and Global Markets, in particular the design and implementation of Bank-wide and BU-specific sustainable finance and corporate sustainability strategies;
- contributing to ESG thought leadership by staying up-to-date on sustainable finance and standards developments from a global and regional perspective, with a particular focus on climate-related standards and sustainable finance market practices;
- creating awareness of ESG risks, and to identify and flag potential implications during the design and execution of our sustainable finance and corporate sustainability strategies; and
- supporting the operationalisation planning and implementation activities of UOB’s net zero commitments.
**Job Requirements**:
- At least 7 years of experience in the banking and finance industry with a keen interest in sustainability;
- Strong understanding and knowledge of sustainable finance market developments and opportunities;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and structured manner;
- Experience influencing and motivating stakeholders; and
- Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently.
