Roles & Responsibilities
The Private Bank Events Planner/Data Manager role will have two main components: (i) manage client data for all events from small, medium to large scale + flagship events and (ii) work alongside other Event planners in the team to co-ordinate and deliver events both Virtually and in - person. This is a full-time position based in Singapore reporting to directly the Head of Private Bank Asia Events in Hong Kong.
The job demands interaction with colleagues on the global events team, bankers and product partners, and senior management so that we can ensure a consistent and distinctive experience for clients which underscore our business strategies. The event team’s goals are to help markets increase client business/deepen existing relationships, create and drive efficiencies for all internal partners and maintain the J.P. Morgan brand standard at all events. High pressured position demands strong communication skills, accuracy, long hours and travel within the Asia region with possible opportunities to travel outside the region. Data management is an equal part of overall responsibilities.
**Overview of responsibilities**:
**Event Management**:
- Understand business objectives and help develop an event strategy that supports business goals
- Manage high-touch events consistent with J.P. Morgan Private Bank brand standards
- Familiar with key Asian cities, venues / vendors, as well as cultural nuances
- Ability to influence stake holders in order to keep projects on track and in line with regional strategy
- Ability to negotiate with event venues and vendors to maximize budget allocations
- Business acumen to think strategically and problem solve offering creative solutions
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines with prompt and clear responses
- Participate in frequent events team and business meetings, providing updates as needed
- Strong presentation skills
**Data management**:
- Manage data for Asia event participation; including, but not limited to; gathering nominations, providing timely RSVP updates and post-event reporting
- Proactive data review including new ideas on how to streamline processes
- Exceptionally strong database skills including new or propriety software and Excel, and must be proficient in pivot tables
- Ability and desire to react to last minute requests including cutting/sorting and distributing data under pressure
**Requirements**:
- At least a Bachelor Degree in any discipline
- A minimum of 4 years prior experience in event management related activities
- Exemplary oral/written communications and interpersonal skills
- Exemplary Data management skills
- Solid project management experience
- Extremely detailed oriented
- Availability to work late hours and travel internationally on a regular basis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint & SharePoint sites
- Willingness to learn, adapt and have a positive and professional attitude at all times
- Skilled at handling a vast array of personalities and able to liaise with senior management
- Prior experience in financial services a plus
- Alongside fluent English, proficiency in Mandarin is a plus as the job holder is required to liaise with stakeholders from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
