Facilities Manager

The Facilities Manager will primarily be the focal point for all Engineering, Energy, and Project-related account issues working closely with the Subject Matter Expert network and the Country Technical Lead to maximize the breadth of information produced across all the work-streams to provide insightful information to support decision making.
The role will also take a leadership position for ensuring a joined-up delivery approach across the spectrum of services delivered out the site to deliver:
- 1. Maintaining Critical Systems (MCS)
2. Building Electrical Inspections (BEI)
3. Lifecycle Capital Replacement (LCR)
4. Energy, Water & Environmental (EE)
5. GTO/Property Data Centre SLA
6. Archive Storage Facilities (ASF)
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for standardized processes and procedures for Data Centre SLAs in compliance with legislation and meeting industry ‘best practice’
- Monitoring Maintenance Management Strategies to ensure alignment with the Client’s objectives, especially in terms of business continuity
- Ensures all Statutory and non-Statutory PPMs are completed before the due date.
- Ensures all reactive Engineering related work orders are responded to and completed in line with commitments by client requirements
- As technical lead, the budget control element in the R&R is also responsible for ensuring that the LCR and R&M budget is attainable.
- Attaining and achieving overall KPI in Site performance reporting relating to Technical Engineering and maintenance.
- Development of critical site profiles and maintenance strategy
- Develop processes to assure continuity of critical systems & resilience robustness and mitigation strategies
- Establish the overall Asset Maintenance Strategy to be followed
- Work order management ensures actual work completion is accurately reflected in the system.
- Acts as a focal point to respond to critical engineering failure which affects clients’ business in respective Site/ region
- Ensures detailed factual and technical incident reports and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports for submission to the client within the stipulated time frame
- Acts as point of contact in the Site ensuring that best practice on Data Centre Operations and innovation is applied where appropriate.
- Undertakes regular management audit reviews of critical services on Site on specific compliance requirements
- Drives the development of local Site energy and environmental programs including closely monitoring site energy usage and responsible for financial forecasting and energy reporting.
- Identifies Energy and Environmental initiatives to meet Site E&E targets each year.
- Owning the service delivery measurement process
- Managing key supplier vendors and client relationships
- Develop and manage self-delivery technical and handyman teams with appropriate skills/training to meet service delivery as per client requirements
- Manage the cost-effective procurement of all engineering maintenance services
- Manage forward maintenance plans that track asset condition and projected maintenance costs on a 5-year rolling basis
- Overall responsibility for ensuring all engineering maintenance documentation/records is kept in clearly identified and retrievable systems
- Advise the Facilities Management Teams of changes in critical environment requirements
- Provide expert technical advice and statutory compliance to the site maintenance teams and their clients to promote best-in-class service / best practices.
- Develop and assist in the delivery of cost-effective site maintenance plans.
- Support business development in the generation of fully costed maintenance solutions
- Provide advice and direction in the management of site-based multi-skilled maintenance teams, this to include effective hiring, motivation, development, training, and discipline
- Advise of changes in maintenance techniques that may be beneficial in terms of improved service levels or provide cost reduction
- Responsible for managing technical maintenance services and critical environment services
**Preferred Education & Work Experience**
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Chartered Engineer
- Business or financial qualification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related environment
- Experience in managing Business-Critical Environments
- Previous experience in managing the delivery of technical services
- Managing projects in occupied data centre environments
