You will support the preparation and execution of the extraction and purification process. Be responsible for monitoring and maintaining cleanliness, efficacy, and efficiency of the manufacturing process in the laboratory. You will strictly follow the company’s standard operating procedures and quality control measures to maintain production of high-quality ingredient products. Be responsible for carrying out day-to-day tasks including prepping, measuring, extracting, refining, and packaging of extract products. You must monitor and maintain the laboratory environment in accordance with company needs and state regulations, and report into the Botanical Scientist.

**Responsibilities**:

- Understand and comply with procedures, methodologies, and compliance steps in the development of ingredients.
- Properly handle raw or pre-extracted plant matter with care and attention.
- Perform extractions of plant material, following developed standard operating procedures.
- Provide vital systematic cleaning and sanitization of the extraction laboratory.
- Manage large machinery for raw material preparation and purification / extractions.
- Accurately calibrate scales, balances and other equipment to ensure proper measurement and analysis.
- Ensure consistency and efficacy of product development by following standard operating procedures and maintaining accurate documentation of work completed.
- Assist in the creation of batch production records and labels.
- Assist with weighing, packing, labelling, and documentation of all ingredients/materials in development, as well as the tracking of batch numbers, lot numbers, and expiration dates. Ensure this information is accurate, appropriately documented and listed clearly in accordance with company standard operating procedures.
- Adhere to health and safety, laboratory, and GMP guidelines.
- Perform equipment clean up and housekeeping duties of the laboratory.
- Additional laboratory duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements
- Polytechnic diploma or Degree in any Science discipline.
- 2 to 3 years working in a team environment.
- Familiar with industry terminology and scientific techniques of a laboratory environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Ability to organise and prioritise a variety of tasks/ projects, and work within deadlines.
- High level of integrity and a strong work ethic.
- Willing to manage large laboratory equipment.
- High level of integrity and a strong work ethic, with an ability to learn quickly, successfully initiate skills and follow instructions learnt in training.
- Strong interpersonal skills, hands-on attitude and willing to learn and contribute to task objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, and work comfortably and effectively within a diverse, multicultural team environment.
- Good writing skills and an ability to keep written and digital records.

Desirable Requirements
- An understanding of functions relating to a chemistry and/or extraction laboratory.
- Experience in a similar technician role and/or experience managing large laboratory equipment.
- An interest in trends of health, wellness, and nutrition.
- Strong adaptability and a desire to pursue and grow your career in a dynamic working environment.
