Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out accurate and timely analysis as required, supporting and maintaining laboratory operations.

The Laboratory Technician will work with various laboratory instruments and testing equipment to ensure data quality and adherence to guidelines. This role involves conducting tests in accordance with standard methods and procedures, reviewing and repeating tests if suspicious or abnormal results are encountered, maintaining good housekeeping of the work area, assisting chemists in new method development and standardization of reagents/equipment, and performing any tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum Diploma in Chemistry/Chemical engineering; applicants with professional certificate or Higher Nitec with related experience will be considered. One year of working experience in petroleum or petrochemical laboratory industry is preferred. You should also have experience in handling laboratory instruments such as GC, GCMS, HPLC, FTIR, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, UV spectrophotometer or petroleum physical testing such as distillation unit, flash point tester, density meter etc. Additionally, you should be physically fit, have no medical condition that interferes with laboratory analysis, and be able to work twelve (12) hour morning and night shifts. You should also be able to work in a team and support the Team Leader/Assistant Team Leader.

Preferred Skills

This role requires strong technical skills in areas such as FTIR, Quality Control, HPLC, Housekeeping, Petroleum, Investigation, Chemistry, Titration, Physically Fit, Flash, Team Leader, Screening, Petrochemical, UV, Laboratory, Calibration.
