**What the role is**
- The Social Mobility and Service Integration Division (SMI) oversees policies that provide social support and improve service delivery to lower-income groups. Our division focuses on individuals or families facing financial difficulty, with multiple needs, with the aim of supporting them towards achieving stability, self-reliance, and social mobility over time.

**What you will be working on**
- Brief description of Job Scope:
The officer will review our social assistance approach and policies, and develop strategies to support low-income and vulnerable families and help them achieve stability and resilience.

**Responsibilities**:
Develop and review policies to support and uplift the low-income in Singapore. You will be part of a team whose key responsibilities include:

- Design, implement and review strategies to enable low-income families/individuals to improve their outcomes (e.g. employment, home ownership, education, health) and eventually achieve social mobility, in partnership with other government agencies;
- Identify and monitor national-level outcomes for the low-income segment, and contribute to whole-of-government efforts to review/improve Singapore’s social compact;
- Review policies for ComCare schemes (Interim, Short-to-Medium Term, and Long-Term Assistance), evaluate their impact, and enhance/revise policy parameters and design when required;
- Formulate public communications strategies and products to raise awareness of the Government’s approach towards social assistance and mitigating inequality

Competencies required:

- Education qualification or work experience related to the social sciences or other relevant fields
- At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in public policy formulation
- Ability to engage government agencies and community partners at different levels
- Strong writing, analytical, policy formulation and research skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
