What the role is
If you are looking for a rewarding and fulfilling social service career, join the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) The Graduate Trainee Programme is specially curated for fresh graduates who have a keen interest in the social service sector. You will be exposed to a wide spectrum of work ranging from policy-related work to planning and administration of programmes, as well as project management to understand how NCSS supports the social service eco-system in Singapore as a Sector Developer.
What you will be working on
The one-year immersive Graduate Trainee Programme offers full integration into NCSS, allowing you to work alongside all levels of staff and key stakeholders, with hands-on involvement in new and ongoing projects. There will be structured job rotations to at least two Divisions with an industry attachment to a social service agency for first-hand experience working alongside social service professionals.
Bridging the university-workplace gap, trainees are assigned mentors to guide them on workplace norms, culture, and expectations not typically taught in academic settings. Mentors will support trainees to navigate workplace challenges and provide insights into performance improvement and career pathways.
Throughout the programme, you will be involved in cross-functional project teams for signature events in NCSS and the social service sector, with networking opportunities that grant you valuable professional contacts to expand your network. A Talent Manager will guide you throughout the one-year programme, providing a realistic view of the social service sector and the role you can play in NCSS, helping fresh graduates make informed career decisions while developing practical skills and providing accelerated learning opportunities after graduation.

Requirements
