Prepare a wide range of dishes from hearty brunch items to fresh salads and house‑made bakes. Innovate seasonal menus and contribute to special promotions or events. Oversee food quality and consistency at every service. Job Requirements Experience as a Sous Chef or kitchen lead in a café, deli, or casual dining venue. Strong culinary skills and familiarity with café‑style cuisine. Sous Chef ChineseCuisine Sous chef to create and update menus, ensuring they are appealing, balanced (less salt or MSG for example), and cater to various dietary needs and preferences. Alter existing recipes to healthier options or arrange specific menu when one item is insufficient due to a last‑minute order. Overseeing food quality and presentation standards when Head chef is not around. At the beginning of a shift, Sous chef must supervise the preparation of ingredients, sanitization of workstations and organization of kitchen equipment. Ensure that all recipes and pastes are documented in a neat and orderly manner. Sous chef is responsible for checking their kitchen inventory and tracking ingredients whenever Head chef is not around. This ensures that the appropriate products are always available in the kitchen. Sous chef is responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to health and safety regulations and ensuring the kitchen environment is clean and things are organized neatly. Sous chef is responsible for minor repairs and if found that the machine broke down because it was not cared for properly, Sous chef and the staff maintaining the equipment will bear the repair cost together. Address any issues that arise in the kitchen, including food quality problems, staff conflicts, or equipment malfunctions.
