As a Business Area (BA) Leader, you will play a crucial role in overall leadership within your team, ensuring growth of capabilities and capacity to meet business demands, delivery of high-quality project outcomes, and nurturing and developing talent within your teams.Your responsibilities will include providing professional leadership within the BA team at a management level, establishing and consolidating relationships with senior staff in BA offices, and taking ownership for the delivery of the GECs technical capability. You will be expected to plan and drive the development of Arcadis capability and capacity in the BA team, aligned with Discipline wide plans to meet project demands. Collaboration with Talent Acquisition and Learning Development will be essential to ensure BA team needs are understood and plans to meet them are in place.In addition, you will drive a culture of project delivery excellence within the BA team, ensuring that adequate talent is available and assigned to lead on project delivery from a technical and task management perspective. It will also be your responsibility to ensure the delivery of projects/tasks within the team is in accordance with Management Systems to meet time, quality, budgetary, and health and safety targets.Furthermore, you will engage with senior leadership in the BA you collaborate with, championing the involvement and inclusion of GEC capability in the delivery model using SOPs to standardize the delivery approach. You will also drive the implementation of the GEC and Discipline strategy within the BA team, including managing changes associated with the operating model and communicating change aligned with the strategic direction of the company, GECs, and Discipline.Your role will involve developing and implementing workforce plans regarding building capability and capacity of the teams over the medium to long term in consultation with the Discipline Director, BA stakeholders, Workforce Planners, and Service Delivery Managers. Additionally, you will work with Discipline Director and Service Delivery Managers to define and implement standardization and automation initiatives within the team.As a BA Leader, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day workload within the teams to ensure that direct and indirect hour targets are achieved, working closely with the Discipline Director and Workforce Planner. Career development, a culture of health and safety awareness, managing staff engagement levels, and ensuring team shape and size within the discipline are key areas that you will be focusing on.Collaboration with other BA Managers and GBA Manager within Disciplines will be crucial to ensure that capabilities are maximized across teams and projects. Driving the development of training and accreditation plans to continuously improve skills and meet workload requirements from the BAs will also be a part of your responsibilities.In this role, you will be responsible for implementing policies and procedures in line with GEC country-specific policies, delivering team metrics in conjunction with the Discipline Director, and being a key interface with Discipline Director and Service Delivery Manager for team performance, development of capabilities, and progress on standardization and automation.Decision rights will include driving team efficiency, enhancing capability development and technical skillset in line with professional standards, influencing recruitment decisions, and capability development. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor or master's degree and experience leading and growing a significant business function within a multinational engineering or professional services firm.
