What The Role Is
Introduction to Asia Pacific Sustainable Aviation Centre (APSAC)
The Asia Pacific Sustainable Aviation Centre (APSAC) is a company limited by guarantee set up by CAAS and registered with ACRA on 9 April 2025. APSAC is a Singapore-based centre with a regional mission to support Asia Pacific (APAC) countries to advance sustainable aviation through policy research, collaboration, and capacity building. Its key activities include:
Undertaking policy research in areas such as cleaner aviation fuels, carbon accounting, and green financing.
Facilitating collaboration across governments, industry, and academia for joint studies and policies.
Providing capability-building through technical assistance and training in sustainable aviation policy development and implementation.
What You Will Be Working On
Position: Director of Policy & Projects
We are recruiting a Director to lead the Policy & Projects department at APSAC. The successful candidate will oversee the policy research programme, manage research projects with industry and partners, and engage with regional stakeholders to support APAC-centric sustainable aviation policies.
Job Scope
Lead the Policy & Projects department.
Coordinate with CAAS Sustainability Office on research, projects, and funding.
Identify policy development needs for APAC.
Develop partnerships with governments, industry, and academia in APAC.
Define problem statements in aviation fuels, carbon markets, and green financing.
Create policy papers for APAC sustainable aviation policies.
Work with partners to develop research studies addressing APAC's policy needs.
Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
Negotiate partnership and research collaboration agreements.
Manage projects to ensure successful delivery and monitor KPIs.
Engage with government agencies on policy development.
Present policies at international platforms to build thought leadership.
Conduct research on decarbonization trends.
Undertake secretariat duties for APSAC Advisory Council.
What We Are Looking For
Requirements:
Appropriate tertiary education and qualifications.
At least 15 years of relevant leadership experience.
Mature, self-aware, and proactive.
Experience in aviation, sustainability, renewable fuels, and green financing.
Strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness.
Experience negotiating and drafting partnership agreements.
Proven project management skills across stakeholders.
