What The Role Is
You will lead a team that works closely with our statutory boards and across Government to design and implement policies and strategies to enhance Singapore's industry ecosystem, attract new investments, and ensure that the fruits of economic growth benefits all Singaporeans.

You will lead a team that works closely with our statutory boards and across Government to design and implement policies and strategies to enhance Singapore's industry ecosystem, attract new investments, and ensure that the fruits of economic growth benefits all Singaporeans.
What You Will Be Working On
Specifically, you will lead a team which will:
Design and implement policies and strategies to enhance our economic competitiveness and
value proposition to investors
Review and develop a suite of incentive products (grants, tax incentives, loans, equity, and
hybrid instruments) that are aligned with Singapore's economic strategies, generate strong
outcomes and offer taxpayers value-for-money
Assess tax incentive applications/amendments that require Ministry approval
Review the performance of individual sectors, identify opportunities for restructuring, and
foster the growth of nascent sectors
Evaluate business plans comprehensively and critically, including to ensure alignment with
our economic strategies
Formulate Singapore's policy responses to emerging issues such as on economic security and supply chain resilience
Monitor and develop our response to international economic and tax developments, such as the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS 2.0) project
Be the custodian for the Economic Expansion Incentives (Relief from Income Tax) Act
Work with the Ministry's Political Office Holders and Senior Management, partners from across Government (especially the Economic Development Board and Enterprise Singapore),
and industry stakeholders.
What We Are Looking For

Translating knowledge and insights into practical frameworks, strategies and policy
recommendations
Working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to organisational needs and priorities
Assessing various viewpoints and proposing recommendations with clear articulation of
benefits and trade-offs, employing data, insights, and credible external perspectives in the process
Rallying and leading engagements among multiple stakeholders within and outside of the public service
You Should Have
a strong sense of intellectual curiosity
a positive and conscientious attitude, with a focus on results
an aptitude and passion for policy work
ability to supervise and develop a high-performing team, and to work with multiple
stakeholders
strong analytical capacity, including a firm grasp of economic concepts (e.g. cost-benefit
analysis)
excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written skills)
familiarity with corporate tax and accounting matters
keen interest in current affairs, especially in relation to global economic developments
