Job Title: Senior Oracle DBA

This is a senior-level Database Administrator position responsible for the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of databases in cloud and on-premises environments.

Responsibilities include:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 instances in cloud/on-prem environments.
• Configuring Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Replication, and other HA/DR solutions.
• Conducting performance tuning, query optimization, and implementing indexing strategies.
• Automating administrative tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell.
• Migrating databases to AWS RDS and EC2 using best practices.
• Implementing and managing security, including access control, encryption, and auditing.
• Installing, configuring, and administering Oracle 19c databases (on-prem and AWS-hosted).
• Setting up and managing Oracle Data Guard, RMAN backups, and tuning/diagnostics.
• Performing routine health checks, patching, schema changes, and space management.
• Managing provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of RDS SQL Server and Oracle 19c instances.
• Monitoring RDS performance, configuring backup retention, parameter groups, and applying patches.
• Handling snapshots, restore operations, and troubleshooting RDS-related issues.

Qualifications include:

• 5+ years of DBA experience with strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience managing Oracle 19c databases.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server and Oracle), CloudWatch, and performance tuning in cloud environments.
• Strong scripting skills in T-SQL, PL/SQL, and PowerShell.
• Deep understanding of HA/DR, backup/restore strategies, and cloud migration approaches.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, and automation tools.
• Experience in supporting Oracle Database environments PROD/DR/DEV/QA/UAT.
• Strong experience in Database Administration in Oracle version (11g/12c/18C/19C).
• Experience in supporting high availability Oracle RAC environment (2/3/4 node clusters),Oracle Golden Gate, Oracle Data Guard.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, connectivity issues, security issues.
• Strong Knowledge in Operating systems like windows and Unix.
• Generating reports in Oracle database using tools like AWR, ASH, ADDM and manual scripts.
• Provide continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, historical and real time performance monitoring of the Oracle.
• Strong Experience of RMAN, expdp/impdp, Backup/Recovery.
• Experience in evaluating and Installing new software releases, patches, upgrade and Database cloning.
• Experience in developing and executing database security policies, procedures.
• Daily health monitoring of database system and data integrity checks.
• Collect and analyze database performance information, identify and implement solutions for performance problems.
• Experience with other RDBMS,NO SQL, cloud platforms will be added advantage.
• Good communication skills and Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KBs, runbooks, topology).
• Work with users, vendors to take timely and appropriate steps to resolve and troubleshoot issues impacting service levels and conduct root cause analysis.

Certifications include:

• Microsoft Certified: SQL Server DBA or Azure Administrator Associate.
• AWS Certified Database - Specialty.
• Oracle Database 19c Administrator Certified Professional.
