We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Database Specialist who will be responsible for the end-to-end management of cloud-based database platforms.

Job Description:
  • The ideal candidate will design, deploy, and optimize cloud databases on major public clouds (Alibaba Cloud and AWS) ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability.
  • Our team relies on this specialist to select the most suitable database types and service models based on business requirements.
  • This role involves implementing HA and DR solutions, monitoring database performance using cloud-native tools, analyzing slow queries, lock conflicts, and resource bottlenecks, and rapidly resolving production database incidents.
Requirements:
  • Expertise in database services of at least one major public cloud (Alibaba Cloud or AWS), with familiarity in the other.
  • In-depth understanding of core principles of mainstream databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis) and advanced SQL optimization/troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale (TB-level) databases, sharding, and read/write splitting.
  • 5+ years of DBA experience, including at least 2 years managing public cloud databases.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Designing and deploying cloud databases on Alibaba Cloud (RDS, PolarDB, Redis, MongoDB) and AWS (RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, DynamoDB).
  • Selecting appropriate database types (relational/NoSQL/NewSQL) and service models (managed services vs. self-built clusters).
  • Implementing HA and DR solutions such as cross-zone deployments, Multi-AZ, and cross-region replication.
  • Monitoring database performance using cloud-native tools (CloudMonitor, CloudWatch) and third-party tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Analyzing slow queries, lock conflicts, and resource bottlenecks, optimizing SQL statements and index designs.
  • Rapidly resolving production database incidents such as replication lag, connection pool exhaustion, and storage scaling.
