Job Overview

The Principal Piping Material Engineer is responsible for leading piping material engineering activities and ensuring the technical integrity of project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a single point of contact on matters related to Piping Material Engineering in all phases of the project.
  • Responsible for leading piping material engineering activity, coordinating with the Piping Lead, and ensuring compliance with project HSE requirements.
  • Review and provide technical inputs on various Piping material related specifications and associated technical matters.
  • Based on client specifications, follow project-specific procedures related to Piping Material Engineering.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in an engineering setup for upstream oil & gas projects (platforms & FPSO projects) serving in the capacity of a Lead Engineer and accrued thereof a minimum experience of 4 years in the capacity of a Lead Piping Material Engineer.
  • Applicants' experience in software usage for Piping material quantity estimate, Procurement planning, material traceability, and delivery to site is important in selection.
  • Design experience with respect to typical Piping Engineering deliverables such as specifications, data sheets, MTO, TQ, TBA, and Supplier Drawing Reviews is essential.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Material Engineering or other equivalent engineering specialization.

Skills:

  • Excellent technical communication skills with the ability to present technical issues to design teams, client technical authorities, and client's project management representatives and approving bodies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well with people at all levels in the organization.

Additional Requirements:

  • Familiarity with using Navisworks.
  • Experience in FPSO projects and HPHT services is preferred.
