Lead Piping Material Specialist

About the Role:

This is a critical position that requires an experienced professional to lead piping material engineering activities and ensure technical integrity in accordance with project HSE requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with other organisational units, maintaining a positive and safe working environment, reviewing and providing technical inputs on various Piping material related specifications, and delivering all Piping material related engineering activities and deliverables to ensure compliance with specification, integrity, and quality requirements of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a single point of contact on matters related to Piping Material Engineering in all phases of the project.
  • Responsible for leading piping material engineering activity and ensuring technical integrity for compliance to project HSE requirements.
  • Coordinate with other organisational units for project related issues and maintain a positive and safe working environment.
  • Review and provide technical inputs on various Piping material related specifications and associated technical matters.
  • Be responsible for all Piping material related engineering activities and deliverables to ensure that the design complies with the specification, integrity, and quality requirements of the project.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a minimum of 15 years of experience having worked in an engineering setup for upstream oil & gas projects (platforms & FPSO projects) serving in the capacity of a Lead Engineer and accrued there of a minimum experience of 4 years in the capacity of a Lead Piping Material Engineer.
  • Experience in Software usage for Piping material quantity estimate, Procurement planning, material traceability and delivery to site is important in selection of the candidate.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must have a minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical / Material Engineering or other equivalent engineering specialisation.

Skills:

  • Excellent technical communication skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams, client technical authorities, and client's project management representatives and approving bodies.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills and be able to work well with people at all levels in the organization.
