Job Description:

This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of piping materials and systems, as well as coordinating with other organisational units for project-related matters.

  • Reports to a designated authority and is responsible for ensuring that all assigned work is completed on time and of the intended quality.
  • Interfaces with other organisational units as required and maintains a positive and safe working environment at the work location.
  • Complies with the company code of conduct and ensures ethical behavior in all interactions.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Acting as a single point of contact on matters related to Piping Material Engineering in all phases of the project.
  • Coordinating on project-specific issues with the Piping Lead/Piping Material Lead.
  • Ensuring the technical integrity of compliance to project HSE requirements relevant to the scope of work.
  • Reviewing and providing technical inputs on various Piping material-related specifications and associated technical matters.
  • Following project-specific procedures related to Piping Material Engineering.
  • Ensuring that all Piping material-related engineering activities and deliverables comply with the specification, integrity, and quality requirements of the project.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience working in an engineering setup for upstream oil & gas projects (platforms & FPSO projects) serving in the capacity of a Lead/Senior Material Engineer.
  • Experience in software usage for Piping material quantity estimate, Procurement planning, material traceability, and delivery to site.
  • Design experience with respect to typical Piping Engineering deliverables, such as specifications, data sheets, MTO, TQ, TBA, and Supplier Drawing Reviews.
  • Experience in Norwegian projects and familiarity with NCS and UKCS sectors.
  • Prior work experience with medium/large-sized brownfield and green field projects in the Oil and Gas sector with similar roles.
  • In-depth knowledge in Piping material engineering/procurement and cost-effectiveness.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of oil and natural gas industry standards, such as ASME, API, BS, European Regulations, and other relevant standards and guidelines.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Excellent technical communication skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams, client technical authorities, and client's project management representatives and approving bodies.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyse problems, and provide focused solutions to assigned projects.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to work well with people at all levels in the organization.
  • Familiarity with common business software applications, such as MS Office, MS Excel, and experience in calculating/validating pipe thickness, Branch reinforcement, etc.
  • Experience in using Navisworks.
