JOB SUMMARY The Senior School Librarian leads the development of a vibrant, inclusive and future‐focused learning hub that inspires curiosity, reading, learning and research. The role promotes information, digital and media literacy, fostering critical thinking and global awareness. The Librarian teaches research, information and digital literacy through direct instruction, workshops and collaborative lessons, equipping students with the skills to think critically, inquire effectively and learn independently. The Librarian collaborates with staff and students to integrate research and inquiry across the curriculum, particularly supporting IGCSE and IBDiploma learners, including the Extended Essay. Through curation, guidance and innovation, the Librarian ensures that all learners become confident, ethical, and independent users of information. REQUIREMENTS A degree in Library and Information Science, Education or related field At least two years’ experience in a school library or academic library setting Expertise in digital and information literacy, academic honesty and library and resource management systems Strong communication, collaboration and organisational skills A passion for reading and literacy Alignment with our core values of excellence, kindness, sustainability, diversity and community A hard‐working, positive, flexible and solution‐focused attitude to working life A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well‐being of children A commitment to meeting deadlines, attention to detail, and high standards Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities A mindset of continuous professional learning and improvement HOW TO APPLY Successful candidates will be working in an environment with small class sizes and motivated students, having access to excellent resources, facilities and colleagues.
