Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to support the commercial activities of our LNG Carrier Business team. The role includes assisting in the management of LNG carrier projects—covering newbuilding deliveries, ongoing operations, contract handling, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will also support financial aspects such as OPEX monitoring and basic cash flow tracking. An understanding of the LNG shipping industry and its commercial practices will be an advantage.
Responsibilities
Commercial Management of LNG Carrier Projects: Manage ongoing commercial operations for existing LNG projects; manage all commercial aspects of LNG carrier newbuilding projects, including pre-delivery and post-delivery phases; provide commercial support and review key contractual agreements including time charterparties and shipbuilding contracts; ensure robust contract governance and compliance with contractual obligations; monitor and control operating expenses (OPEX); prepare variance analysis and financial performance reports; manage project-level financials, including cash flow planning and cash waterfall management to ensure timely allocation of revenues and payments in accordance with financial structures; handle and resolve commercial disputes to safeguard owners’ interests.
Stakeholder & Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders including LNG charterers, sellers, and buyers; organize and lead regular commercial and operational meetings with charterers and other stakeholders; identify and engage with potential partners to develop mutually beneficial commercial relationships.
Business Development & Market Analysis: Support marketing initiatives for K Line’s LNG tonnage as needed; conduct market research to track industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in the LNG shipping sector; contribute to the identification and development of new business opportunities aligned with company strategy.
Additional Duties: Willingness to travel for meetings, or business development activities; perform other ad-hoc assignments as required by the department.
