is a young business brokerage firm that specializes in buying and selling SMEs in Asia. We are industry agnostic and provide expert advisory services to business owners. We are seeking a highly motivated Business Broker to join our team in Singapore.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of business operations and financial principles. As a Business Broker, you will play a pivotal role in guiding both sellers and buyers through the complex process of business acquisition and divestment.
Responsibilities
Client Acquisition & Management
Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with potential business sellers.
Conduct initial consultations to understand seller objectives, business operations, and financial performance.
Prepare comprehensive listing agreements and engagement proposals.
Manage a pipeline of active listings, ensuring regular communication and progress updates with sellers.
Business Valuation & Analysis
Gather and analyse financial statements, operational data, and other relevant information for business valuations.
Develop accurate and defensible valuations for businesses across diverse sectors, considering market trends and industry benchmarks.
Marketing & Buyer Engagement
Develop and execute effective marketing strategies to attract qualified buyers, utilising various channels including online platforms, industry networks, and direct outreach.
Respond promptly to buyer inquiries and qualify prospective purchasers.
Facilitate buyer tours and meetings with sellers, ensuring confidentiality and professional conduct.
Negotiation & Transaction Management
Act as a skilled negotiator between buyers and sellers, striving for mutually beneficial agreements.
Guide clients through the due diligence process, ensuring all necessary information is exchanged accurately and efficiently.
Collaborate closely with legal and accounting professionals to facilitate smooth transaction closings.
Manage all aspects of the transaction from initial contact to successful settlement.
Market Research & Networking
Stay abreast of market trends, industry developments, and changes in Singapore business regulations.
Actively network within the business community to build a strong professional reputation and generate leads.
Attend industry events and conferences to represent the firm and expand market knowledge.
Compliance & Ethics
Adhere to all relevant Singapore laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Qualifications & Experience
Prior experience in accounting, finance, M&A or legal field.
Sound understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse clients.
Self-motivated, highly organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Knowledge of the Singapore business landscape and legal framework is essential.
