Overview
Executive Director / Director, Consumer, Retail & Healthcare role at Mizuho. APAC role; based in Singapore or Hong Kong. Reports to the Head of Consumer, Retail & Healthcare Sector, Asia Pacific (excl Japan).
Responsibilities
Originate and support business with existing and prospective clients in APAC (excl Japan) in the designated sector by leveraging client relationships, sector knowledge, structuring expertise, and deal experience, under senior management leadership.
Structure and execute corporate finance, acquisition finance (recourse / non-recourse), and other structured products (incl. securitization, project finance).
Engage in M&A advisory with Mizuho Securities Asia Ltd, Mizuho Securities Singapore, Greenhill, etc.
Coordinate DCM, ECM and other activities with Mizuho entities.
As a senior sector coverage banker, engage with C-Suite and M&A decision makers.
Liaise with country, sector, and product bankers across Americas, EMEA, APAC to pitch appropriate products and solutions.
Promote strategic discussions by analyzing client business, M&A strategies, structures, investment plans, financials, and credit.
Create presentation materials and pitch books; visit clients to promote Mizuho products in a compliant manner.
Manage designated accounts with accountability, build objectives and action plans with corporate bankers.
Lead and develop team members to strengthen deal origination with sector knowledge, collaborating across teams and entities.
Perform other duties as assigned by Head of Consumer, Retail & Healthcare and Head of Sector; adhere to internal policies and guidelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above.
10+ years’ experience in Consumer, Retail & Healthcare sector.
10+ years’ experience in Investment Banking.
Experience originating and executing corporate and investment banking deals across APAC Consumer, Retail & Healthcare subsectors (retail, foods & beverages, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, hospitals).
Expertise in acquisition finance, sponsor-led LBO, ECM and M&A transactions.
Connectivity with C-Suite executives in pivotal markets in North Asia.
Knowledge of Mandarin advantageous.
