HR Officer - Ship Management Company
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HR Officer to join our dynamic team at our Singapore-based Ship Management Company. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing HR functions for our office staff.
Responsibilities:
Organizational Structure and Job Descriptions:

  • Review and redesign organizational hierarchy, considering interdepartmental relationships and internal workflows.
  • Analyze and update job descriptions for office staff to ensure alignment between procedures and actual practices.

Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Propose, develop, and implement comprehensive office policies, including (but not limited to):
  • Work from Home Policy
  • Loan Policies
  • Leave Policies
  • Travel Allowance
  • Phone Benefits / Usage Policies.

Performance Management:

  • Develop metrics to evaluate staff performance.
  • Create and implement a performance-to-rewards system to identify and recognize high-performing staff.

Employee Relations:

  • Address employee grievances promptly and professionally.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution to maintain a harmonious workplace.

Training and Development:

  • Assess training needs across departments.
  • Coordinate and implement development programs to enhance employee skills and performance.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Prepare and present reports on HR metrics to senior management, including:
  • Turnover rates
  • Employee satisfaction levels
  • Compliance issues.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HR, preferably in the maritime or shipping industry.
Strong knowledge of Singapore employment laws and regulations.
Experience in managing remote teams and implementing remote work policies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
