Job Summary

The primary goal of this position is to oversee and enhance the operational performance of key suppliers. This entails developing and implementing strategies to improve delivery times, product quality, and overall supplier reliability.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and measure supplier performances in terms of punctuality and conformity.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and reliability of provided indicators.
  • Publish internal reports on supplier performance and share them internally and with suppliers.
  • Enhance SKPIs to achieve defined organizational objectives through established action plans with the SPM organization, Suppliers Operations SO Central team, and Procurement, Industrial (Supply Chain), Engineering, Services-Repairs, and Quality teams.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

Continuous Improvement

  • Implement Thales best practices, including lean manufacturing, with suppliers.
  • Deploy corrective and preventive action plans addressing process, product, or component alerts from industrial operations, customer line fit manufacturers, or the field support organization.
  • Improve the overall interface between Thales and the Supplier using lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Apply techniques such as Six Sigma, DMAIC, or Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify and evaluate potential failures of processes and prioritize actions to alleviate risk in both Thales and Supplier activities.

Crisis Mode

  • Lead the Task Force with his/her network in case of local supply chain crisis.
  • Participate in a Tiger Team at the Group level in case of crisis.

Performance Reviews with Suppliers and Reporting

  • Organize and conduct suppliers' performance reviews with the Category Buyer.
  • Regularly monitor and report global performance action plans focusing on two main areas: quality and punctuality.
  • Issue and validate Supplier KPIs.

Relationships with the Global SPM Organization

  • Support Group initiatives to improve supplier performances.
  • Contribute to identifying weak signals in coordination with Industry, Engineering, Services, Quality, and Procurement departments.
  • Contribute to the knowledge of the complete Supply Chain starting from tier one suppliers and identify weaknesses.

Key Knowledge and Experience

  • A strong background in industry and experience in logistics, manufacturing, industrialization, and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Industrial logistic knowledge including S&OP process, Production Plan, MRP II, and supply chain management.
  • Product understanding and features.
  • Technological expertise in manufacturing processes, LCD/Color filters/Optics/Touch Screen.
  • Simple project management notions.
  • Problem-solving skills, 8D, PDCA, Ishikawa, 5 Whys.
  • FMEA knowledge in processes, products, and industrial logistics.
  • Lean Manufacturing basics.
  • Understanding of ISO EN 9001 and AQAP standards and principles.
  • Nation of companies organizations and systemic analysis.
  • Management of projects, organization, coordination, planning, reporting, and risk management.
  • Technical understanding of products and their characteristics.
  • Ability to lead or work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactivity, team spirit, perseverance, results-oriented, sense of urgency, and ability to travel at least once a month.
