Project Cost Estimator

Your role involves developing and maintaining accurate and detailed cost estimates for major projects and portfolio projects at all stages, from feasibility to execution and close-out. You will provide expert-level cost estimation and control services to ensure that our project costs are in line with business objectives.

  • Build and maintain cost models, databases, benchmarks, and norms specific to major and portfolio projects to enhance estimation accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with approved funding, project scope, and execution plans.
  • Establish and implement effective cost control systems to track actual costs, commitments, and forecasts against the approved budgets.
  • Provide regular cost reporting to stakeholders, highlighting variances, trends, and forecasts with clear explanations and proposed corrective actions if required.
  • Support portfolio prioritization and decision-making by analyzing cost implications across multiple projects and proposing cost optimization strategies.

You will work closely with project teams, discipline engineers, procurement, and contractors to collect data, validate assumptions, and integrate technical and commercial inputs into estimates. Additionally, you will support risk management by identifying cost-related risks and opportunities and incorporating them into estimates, budgets, and forecasts.

The ideal candidate should have a degree in engineering or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of industry experience, preferably in front-end engineering and execution, with expertise in oil and gas, particularly downstream, refinery, and chemical plant industries.

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8 years industry experience
  • Front-End Engineering and Execution experience
  • Oil and gas industry experience, preferably downsteam, refinery, and chemical plant
  • Cost Estimating and cost control principles knowledge
  • Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Cost Estimating and control principles, techniques, and industry cost estimating / controls tools
