Product Safety Engineer Semiconductor Equipment

Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-audit reviews and assessments of product designs to ensure compliance with international safety standards (e.g., IEC, UL, CE, SEMI, NFPA, ISO).
- Collaborate with design engineers early in the development phase to incorporate safety requirements into product designs.
- Identify potential safety risks in product designs and propose practical solutions to mitigate hazards.
- Monitor and interpret changes in global safety standards and translate them into clear design and testing criteria.
- Coordinate with third-party certification bodies for safety audits, including documentation preparation and on-site support.
- Support safety testing activities alongside test engineers and review safety test reports to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Conduct and document formal risk assessments (e.g., FMEA, hazard analysis), maintaining comprehensive technical and compliance records.
- Work cross-functionally with teams from R&D, manufacturing, legal, and quality to promote safety awareness and ensure compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
Requirement:
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in product safety engineering, ideally within semiconductor equipment, industrial machinery, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of international safety standards and certifications such as CE, UL, IEC 60204, and SEMI S2/S8.
- Proficient in applying risk assessment methods (e.g., FMEA, HAZOP) and understanding of mechanical and electrical safety principles; experience with CAD/PLM tools is advantageous.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
