You will be providing statistical support for research studies and assist in data extraction, data analysis and reports of findings:
Work with study team to develop a research database in line with NUP/NUHS data policy guidelines
Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data
Establish rules and procedures for data curation and management
Perform data extraction, cleaning and processing for analysis of healthcare datasets
Perform statistical analysis
Build tools to automate data collection
Support research team in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and institution’s standards
Devise and utilise algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models
Assist with the editing and preparation of manuscripts, reports and presentations
Advise on all statistical aspects relating to the design and analysis of research studies including hypothesis formulation, subject sampling and randomization and sample size determination
Assist in publications, manuscript review
Provide advice and education of data set handling, extraction, cleaning and analysis to other NUP research teams.
Conduct literature review on specific research projects, provide statistical inputs to research proposals, be involved in scientific writing and/or generate technical reports
Conduct workshops on clinical research methodology, basic/intermediate statistics, and statistical packages
Support organizational projects and events
Other ad-hoc duties as required by Reporting Officer
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics/Biostatistics
At least 3 years of experience in research, preferably in clinical research environment
Competent and excellent knowledge of at least one of the following scripting/programming languages or software (Python, R, Java, C++, C#.Net, SQL, STATA, SPSS) and Oracle Business Intelligence
Excellent written and verbal communication skills especially in relation to explaining complex techniques and interpreting results of statistical analyses to study team members
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Meticulous, possess good interpersonal and organising skills
Able to work independently as well as in a team
