Overview
Our client, a leading player in the FMCG industry with a well-established manufacturing facility in Singapore, is currently seeking a
Maintenance Manager
to join their team.
This is a strategic and hands-on role for an experienced professional to lead all aspects of maintenance operations, safety management, and continuous improvement. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring plant reliability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance while driving a proactive maintenance culture and supporting broader operational excellence across the facility.
The Talent
Proven experience in FMCG, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems and practices
Hands-on leadership of maintenance teams, with a focus on skill development and performance
Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and plant utilities systems
Experience managing departmental budgets and inventory procurement
Deep familiarity with safety regulations and compliance in Singapore (e.g., MOM, WHS)
Track record in driving continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives
Excellent cross-functional collaboration and vendor management skills
The Job
Maintenance Operations Leadership
Oversee all day-to-day maintenance activities to ensure equipment uptime and smooth production operations
Lead the development and execution of preventive maintenance (PM) plans for all machinery, equipment, and utilities
Respond swiftly to equipment breakdowns and coordinate timely repairs to minimize downtime
Supervise maintenance works across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other facility systems
Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team to enhance technical capability and operational effectiveness
Delegate tasks, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback
Cultivate a safety-first culture with consistent training and reinforcement of workplace safety practices
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Manage the company’s safety policies in line with Singapore regulatory requirements (MOM, WHS, etc.)
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits; implement corrective actions as needed
Lead incident investigations and propose preventive measures to mitigate future risks
Develop and update company-wide safety SOPs and lead safety training and drills
Budget & Cost Management
Manage the maintenance budget effectively, including cost tracking and forecasting
Source spare parts and materials in a cost-efficient manner while ensuring optimal inventory levels
Support cost-saving initiatives through improved procurement, maintenance scheduling, and utility efficiency
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with production, quality, and warehouse teams to resolve maintenance-related issues
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services
Ensure maintenance activities support overall plant performance and product quality
Drive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) practices to improve equipment performance
Identify and implement technical improvements to reduce downtime and operating costs
Support sustainability initiatives through energy-saving maintenance solutions
