Steelwork Project Manager Job Description:

As a key player in steelwork construction projects, you are responsible for planning and executing initiatives aligned with business goals and timelines.

  • You develop and implement project strategies to ensure timely completion and adherence to set targets.
  • With expertise in structural steel design, fabrication, and erection methods, you deliver high-quality results that meet client expectations.
  • Project cost management is another crucial aspect of this role, including estimation, budgeting, procurement planning, and financial reporting.
  • You maintain cost control by monitoring expenses, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions to optimize resource allocation.
  • On-site steel erection supervision is also a key responsibility, prioritizing safety, quality, and compliance with specifications.
  • Evaluating project risks and developing health & safety protocols in line with construction regulations is essential to ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Leveraging leadership skills, you manage multi-disciplinary teams, subcontractors, and site personnel effectively.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with clients, engineers, fabricators, and suppliers through effective communication is vital to the success of the project.
  • Negotiating contracts, variations, and dispute resolution in steelwork projects requires strong negotiation skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess at least a Professional Certificate/NiTEC or equivalent qualification.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field is required.
  • Specialization in Structural Steelwork and Architectural Metalwork or Civil Engineering and Building Constructions is highly desirable.
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor with the Construction Industry is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word and Excel is necessary.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese is preferred.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet client deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to start work immediately.
