Senior Manager/Manager, Ecosystem and Venture Partner, VIE (Contract)SUTD's Venture and Incubation Experience (VIE) Office is where innovation and cutting‐edge technology address society's challenges. We offer a spectrum of innovation, entrepreneurship and technology commercialisation programmes and ecosystem support to students, researchers and alumni. Many problems in our society require human‐centred design thinking and AI powered solutions. This role offers an opportunity for you to support and work with undergraduate, post‐graduate students and alumni to transform their design‐centred technology into real‐world solutions under the Design Innovation and Venture Experience (DIVE) initiative. You will walk alongside the teams from inception till launch. Responsibilities Ecosystem Building Lead community strategy, growth and engagement across key platforms including workshops, deep dives and events, for our community of innovators and founders, across our student, researchers and alumni. Manage and oversee teams incubating in SUTD including the optimisation of incubation facilities and developing the system that supports and tracks teams' development. Develop strategies to scale current early‐stage innovation project teams beyond their initial prototyping stages into market validation and venture growth. Forge partnerships and secure funding opportunities to support the development of the ecosystem and growth of teams. Venture Partner You will be supporting and guiding teams and startups through various stages of development to help them reach their market potential through design methodologies and other entrepreneurship toolkits. You will be the end‐to‐end partner for innovation teams. You will facilitate connections with partners in the startup ecosystem and industry contacts to help bring teams and startups to the next stage of their journey. You will design, manage and track grants and funding to help teams scale further. You will regularly monitor and report progress to grant stakeholders ensuring compliance and impact. Requirements Degree in any discipline combined with an interest in innovation and AI. At least 7 years of experience working in or with start‐ups and the start‐up community or managing incubators, or in roles relating to community management, program management or grant management, with proven ability in conceptualising and executing relevant role. Entrepreneurial experience will be advantageous. Strong communicator. Able to synthesize and articulate ideas well both verbally and in writing effectively. Self‐starter with a can‐do attitude. Comfortable with working in a lean team while receiving and rendering support from/to the rest of the team. Strong interpersonal skills with proven record of working with diverse stakeholders who may include students, faculty, startups, corporates, government agencies and senior leaders.
