EDB New Ventures is the venture building arm of EDB. Our aim is to support the creation and scaling of high potential new ventures from Singapore to become globally leading businesses. To do so, we are spearheading novel ways of partnering companies for their corporate venturing journeys and established global founders as they build their next ventures from Singapore. This includes embarking on joint venture building sprints alongside partner corporates / global founders, co-investment with corporates to risk-share early-stage growth of their ventures and active portfolio value creation support to scale each venture. In actively working with companies on corporate venturing - we embark on joint venture building sprints alongside strategic corporate partners, co-investing with them to risk-share early-stage growth of their ventures and active portfolio value creation to scale each venture.

We are looking for individual(s) experienced with Green Economy project development / implementation, to join us as a venture builder at Senior Manager seniority level to drive more creation of green ventures in Singapore. Join our fast-growing and dynamic team

[What you will be working on]

Venture Building (Green Economy)

1. Source and evaluate venture building projects, engaging companies / founders, companies and venture studio partners to build high impact ventures. Thematic focus to be on Green Economy areas such as carbon services and energy transition.

2. In partnership with founders, companies and venture studio partners to go into 3-4 month deployments to build ventures:
- Customer insighting via primary research (interviews, surveys, etc.) and secondary market research for quantitative and qualitative research about the venture opportunity area(s), including related key trends, competitors, market needs, technical feasibility and commercial viability, that would help to strategically frame and guide the concept forward.- Brainstorm, develop and test venture - crafting of innovative and viable value propositions for potential business concepts offering new products, services and business models; experienced individuals are also expected to go deep on certain aspects of a venture, e.g. GTM, product strategy, partnership development, etc.- Formulate business plan comprising business and financial model, go-to-market strategy, product concept and key resources / next steps required to set up a new venture- Facilitate high impact connections via EDB’s networks for insights, business partnerships, and other value-added opportunities.

3. Programme Development and Management, by supporting and/or lead fellow teammates to manage ongoing as well as pilot new programmes (e.g. talent, community, marketing) that can significantly attract more Green economy founders / corporates to work with us and also value-add to the ventures in our portfolio.

[What we are looking for]

To meet the challenges of this role, you must have:

- A strong interest and passion in venture creation and creating systems-level impact.
- 6 - 8 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the venture building ecosystem (e.g. venture studio, accelerators, corporate incubation, design studios), especially undertaking key role(s) in startups and/or venture building with companies.
- Experience in driving sustainability partnerships that has resulted in commercial outcomes and deep understanding of challenges to greater adoption by companies.
- Strong analytical ability that can be applied in designing of systems-level programmes, research and understanding of opportunity areas, distillation of qualitative and quantitative data into insights, development and assessment of venture opportunities.
- Practitioners of Agile, lean and user-centered design methodologies / market research analysis is a plus.
